We make sure you experience everything incredible that Israel has to offer. We cater to people of all Jewish backgrounds. Most trips are non-denominational, while a few trips are designed for specific denominations.
We also try our best to make sure you are able to hear a balanced range of perspectives. Our trips go beyond the touristy sites and the camel selfies. We are the only Birthright Israel trip organizer that has a full time follow up director. There's room for you, your friends and family! By simply entering your friends' names on the 'Tell Your Friends' form on our Homepage you will be inviting them and notifying us of your intention to travel together.
A deposit is required in order to show your intention and commitment to participate in the program. The deposit is refunded either upon successful completion of the trip or, if you are not offered a flight, your deposit is returned at your request or at the end of the season for which you have applied.
At the end of the season, you have the option of requesting your deposit back or you can keep your deposit in our registry and it can be used for 2 consecutive seasons.
Please note: If you cancel your trip after the day deadline your deposit will be forfeited and you will need to submit another deposit for a future trip. If you have any questions regarding this, please send an email to info israelonthehouse. For those applicants who have opened an account with Birthright Israel before registration opening or are re-applying for the following season, you are given priority status. This means that we will prioritize you and your friends on the trips that you have chosen.
Registration will also open a few days earlier for you, allowing you to beat the rush. You will receive a welcome email and we highly recommend that you complete your entire registration form and pay your deposit as soon as possible to improve your chances of being selected for the trip you want.
More information for current applicants. No problem. Simply log back in to your application and on the summary page, you will see the trip organizer you have chosen at the bottom.
If you have chosen another organizer by accident, you can simply change your selection by clicking 'Change Trip Organizer'. You will then need to change the relevant trip choice. We never know the exact date Birthright Israel will close registration. It can depend on a number of factors, but mainly on the number of applicants that have applied and if there is still room on the trips. However, typically registration is open for at least 2 weeks.
Once you have completed your application, you will receive a welcome email from us confirming that we have received your application and let you know the next steps. If for some reason you do not receive this email and have applied with us, please send an email to info israelonthehouse. Sachlav IsraelontheHouse will contact you via email to let you know whether or not you have been accepted on the trip.
Please be sure to check your email regularly including spam and junk and make sure you have added our email address to your safe sender list. If you have been accepted, you will receive a Trip Offer via email usually within a few days of applying.
You are able to accept or decline your trip offer by clicking the link in the email. Important: If your email address that you put on your application has changed please make sure to update us by sending us an email to info israelonthehouse. Apply NOW! All participants must have valid travel documents passport, Green Card, visa, etc. Passports must be valid for a minimum of 6 months from the last day of your return date.
We need to have a copy of your VALID passport at least 50 days before your scheduled departure date or you may be removed from the trip and forfeit your deposit.
Participants are responsible for getting to the gateway departure city on their own. Birthright Israel and IsraelontheHouse do not pay for any expenses related to this.
It is mandatory for all Birthright Israel participants to have extended health insurance for the duration of the trip which is valid in Israel. This insurance must cover you for pre-existing medical conditions overseas, and medical emergencies overseas. We highly recommend that you purchase a full travel insurance policy through our recommended Insurer, CTAS. The policy covers you for all of instances mentioned above, and without having to pay any money out of pocket which means no deductibles!

You can view a sample itinerary here. Should you be accepted on a trip and you need to cancel, you will need to do so by sending an email to info israelonthehouse. The cancellation deadline is 65 days before your trip departure. Exact cancellation deadlines can be found in your Trip Offer.
After you have successfully completed the trip, you will receive an email from Birthright Israel upon your return to the US usually around 4 days after you return with instructions on how to activate your deposit refund. If you have not been offered a trip and you wish to have your deposit refunded, please send an email to info israelonthehouse.
You will need to reapply for the following season. As a returning applicant, you will have priority and we will do our best to offer you a trip. If you have any questions before then, you can call the office on or email info israelonthehouse. Unfortunately, that is not possible. All participants are required to fly out of the United States to Israel together. Unfortunately not. Amazing Israel is a seasoned trip organizer and tour company based in Jerusalem. Amazing Israel is not affiliated with any religious movement and is vocal about accepting participants from all backgrounds on their trips.
Ezra World has roots in a youth movement focused on connecting Russian Jews to their community, and their Birthright trips grew out of the organization as it expanded to new avenues of connecting Jews to their heritage. Now, they points out especially that their staff are all Americans who made the choice to come to Israel, who are now immersed in Israeli society, and who attended the best Israeli tour guide educational programs.
Technically, Ezra world is affiliated with the Orthodox Judaism movement, so expect more than the average amount of time spent on religious connections to Israel and Zionism, though the organizers clearly point out that they are open to all participants.
Ezra World also offers speciality trips, including a foodie-focused itinerary and a trip organized around world-renowned startups and entrepreneurship in Israel. Hillel is a campus-based organization, so their focus is on college students and university-specific trips. They are not limited to college campuses, and offers speciality trips and trips for all ages like the other trip organizers, including one of the most adventurous trips in the entire program: Israel Underwater, which takes participants SCUBA diving in Israel with Israeli Navy divers!
Hillel is non-denominational, but definitely a religious organization. They also have a reputation during classic and campus trips for taking more time for deep conversations and learning, rather than focusing on adventure or experiencing the culture.
Mostly expect a typical itinerary, with that slight extra focus on religion and activities designed and sometimes feeling forced to create meaningful connections among participants and to Israel, in addition to the speciality trips offered by this organizer.
Trips: Classic day and 7-day Campuses many! Israel Outdoors lives up to their name, but also goes so far beyond. They also offer many speciality trips, including multiple extended study abroad, cultural, campus, and accessible trips the most offerings of any provider.
They even offer a one-of-a-kind USA-Argentina joint trip. And all of these trips are offered with departures from the most cities out of all trip organizers. Israel Outdoors is an experienced Israeli tour operator based in Tel Aviv with offices in Washington, DC , and have earned a reputation for participants who want to travel to Israel and take extra advantage of the incredible natural beauty of the country and the spirit of adventure.
This overlap is definitely their niche: Expect a wonderful tour of Israel on your Birthright trip, with a consistent theme of deep learning and a spiritual connections to the land and to Judaism. In addition to traditional Israeli tour guides, Mayanot Israel Birthright trips include Jewish educators and rabbis. This organizer does not offer the most departure options, but they cover the east coast, west coast, and midwest, making their distinctive portfolio of trips very logistically accessible to all those interested.
In fact, Israel Free Spirit is another trip organizer vocal about their acceptance of all participants from all Jewish affiliations, with an extremely diverse selection of trips with the only downside of only leaving from 3 departure cities. This trip organizer is the only one to offer a trip specifically built for those young adult Jews recovering from substance addiction.
In addition to providing a sensitive completely sober experience for the entire trip, this itinerary goes deeper and offers participants a chance to visit and learn about treatment centers in Israel and engage with Israelis going through the same experience. Israel Free Spirit also offers special medical needs trips with special staff, equipment, and itineraries. Fitting with their name, there is also a Kabbalah and Mysticism trip, offering a noteworthy experience for those seeking a spiritual connection to Israel outside of the traditional religions.
And if a traditional religious experience is more your speed, there are trips for Modern Orthodox men and women single gender. Not to be left out, they too offer an adventurous trip and an itinerary focused on arts and culture.
